With a passion for teaching ballet spanning over 15 years across Japan, UK, and Singapore, Mayu Watanabe has been the driving force behind M.A BALLET since 2016. As its Director, she leads a team of instructors, meticulously managing all aspects of the academy's operations and orchestrating a diverse range of classes and events. Mayu excels in teaching ballet for students of all ages and skill levels, supported by her First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Dance and Performance from the Central School of Ballet in London. Her accolades include 1st Prize in the Choreographic Competition and Central Trust Awards at the Central School of Ballet, along with 2nd prize at the Hokkaido Ballet Competition in Japan.

Mayu's dedication to ballet education is evidenced by her success in sending several students from M.A Ballet to overseas vocational professional schools, significantly enhancing their ballet training and career opportunities.

Mayu’s dance journey began in childhood and took her to the Central School of Ballet, where she performed in ballets such as Marius Petipa’s Le Corsaire and participated in the Ballet Central tour across 25 venues in the UK. In 2007, she earned her BA(Hons) Degree & Diploma in Professional Dance and Performance with first-class honours. After graduation, Mayu made a significant impact in Singapore’s dance community, performing with The Arts Fission Company (2009-2013) and teaching Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance at SOTA, LASALLE, and NAFA.
