Ballet Instructor
Florence has an extensive classical and contemporary performance repertoire, including corps and soloist roles with Victoria Ballet Company, Coastal City Ballet, and Paradosi Ballet, in classical ballet productions such as Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Swan Lake, Carmen, amongst many others. She has also been involved in various contemporary dance projects and performances.
Florence has been trained in both the Vaganova and RAD method and holds a diploma in classical dance from the Victoria Ballet Academy. She was also personally invited to apprentice with the Elite Programme under Ekaterina Shchelkanova and Anton Boytsov from the Kirov/Mariinsky ballet company in St Petersburg, Russia. Additionally, she has been awarded the Royal Academy of Dance Advance certification with Distinction. She’s the first local to be recognised and awarded the Teaching Certificate from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg, Russia. Additionally, Florence completed the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Teacher Certification Program in NYC.
Florence’s interest in rehabilitation and injury prevention has also led her to pursue a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, where she has achieved a Distinction Award (2013) and was honoured with the Queen Margaret University Scholarship. Furthermore, she received recognition as a Teaching Fellow (FHEA) of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
Florence’s love for learning and interest in other forms of movement led her to also be a certified Stott Mat Pilates Instructor and holds a NCSF Personal Training Certification. She has also achieved Progressing Ballet Technique Certification Level 1, which she incorporates in her conditioning classes.
Florence has taught and refined her teaching for more than 15 years and has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts since 2017. During her tenure, she has taught Ballet and conditioning classes to Dance Diploma year 1, 2, and 3 students and supervised dissertations for Bachelor Students in Dance, Musical Theatre, and Acting. Previously, she held the position of Principal Ballet Mistress at a ballet studio, where she established the Elite Programme for students aged 7-18, providing individual coaching and guidance.
